Composite manhole covers

Composite access covers are selected as a cover-and-frame assembly. Begin with the chamber opening and installation location, then confirm the required performance and access arrangement.

Match the cover to the chamber

Separate the unobstructed clear opening from the external frame size and the cover dimensions. State the available frame depth, surrounding construction and finished surface level. For replacement work, record the existing frame condition and seating detail; a cover with a similar visible size is not necessarily interchangeable.

NA-ME supplies composite covers within its industrial product range. Product geometry, assembly details and project documentation should be confirmed through an enquiry rather than inferred from a generic description.

Prepare a useful cover schedule

DetailWhat to provide
OpeningShape and required clear opening in millimetres
InstallationFootway, car park, roadway or other exact location
TrafficExpected vehicles, maintenance access and unusual wheel loads
FrameExternal footprint, depth, bearing and surrounding construction
AccessOpening frequency, lifting method, hinges or locking requirement
EnvironmentWater, chemicals, temperature and sealing requirement

Load class and material are separate decisions

A load-class designation refers to a defined test and application framework. It is not the weight of a vehicle that may automatically cross the cover. Request evidence for the exact assembly and the relevant standard and material part where specified. No blanket EN 124 conformity claim is made for the range on this page.

Composite and cast-iron options also differ in handling, corrosion exposure, security details and maintenance needs. Compare complete assemblies for the same installation rather than choosing on material name or cover weight alone.

Technical information for your project

Send the cover schedule and project requirements to the sales team. Ask for the dimensions, assembly details and relevant performance documentation needed for your review. Include the destination and quantity so the commercial proposal addresses the intended supply.
